The Great Granville Picnic: A Tradition of Community

The Great Granville Picnic is a deeply rooted community tradition, first held in Granville as early as the 1880s. Over the years, it became a beloved gathering place for neighbors — a time to connect, celebrate, and enjoy summer together in the heart of the Village.

In 2026, the Granville Community Foundation was honored to bring the tradition back to life. This year’s picnic brought our community together for a joyful day of connection, celebration, and fun — reminding us of the simple power of gathering as neighbors.

Through the revival of the Great Granville Picnic, GCF hopes to honor Granville’s rich history while creating opportunities for new and genuine connections among the people who call our community home. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s picnic such a success and look forward to exploring what comes next for this special Granville tradition.
