Fall Grant Cycle Announced

The Granville Community Foundation is currently accepting grant applications for the Fall and Winter of 2020-2021. Grant applications will be accepted October 6 through October 30.

In the Fall and Spring of each year, the Granville Community Foundation provides grants to local non-profit organizations. These grant awards are funded through an endowment built through the generosity of Granville residents over the past 50 years.

In the Spring of 2020, the GCF chose to direct all grants to pandemic relief in the Granville Community through the Carl Frazier Fund and the General Fund. Since March, the Carl Frazier Fund, administered by the Licking County Coalition for Housing, has helped more than 20 families with emergency expenses including rent, utility and groceries. Grants from the General Fund have been used to purchase mask making materials, masks, PPE and sanitizing equipment to a number of not-for-profit entities.

All decisions about the Foundation’s grant program are made by its Board of Directors, who represent the community at large and its principal governmental and educational institutions. Decisions are guided by an evolving assessment of community needs. For the Fall grant cycle, priority will be given to applicants seeking support for projects or programs which support community-building, education, the arts and historic preservation.

Foundation grants total more than $300,000 over the past three years, and each member of the Granville community is touched by these grants. We have recently funded projects to support education, live music, exhibits and programs for the Granville Historical Society and Robbins Hunter Museum, camp programs for special needs children, The Granville Turkey Trot, Feed the Dream, programs for senior citizens and the annual Fourth of July Fireworks.
